EL SEGUNDO, CA – In its ongoing commitment to the environment, Fresh & Easy
Neighborhood Market is partnering with Resource Management Group (RMG) to design a
world-class recycling and waste reduction program. The Fresh & Easy and RMG partnership
will significantly reduce the amount of waste leaving stores and Fresh & Easy’s distribution
center.
Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market is the first entry by the world’s number three retailer,
Britain’s Tesco, into the US market. The Resource Management Group (RMG) is a fullservice
recycling commodities and waste services company.
Fresh & Easy will recycle or reuse all of its display and shipping materials. These materials
will be hauled back from each store to the company’s centralized distribution center where it
will be sorted, measured and recycled or reused. The waste management program creates
accountability and flexibility to make an impact on reducing, reusing and recycling a
significant amount of waste.

A notable feature of this program will be reusing or recycling of all display ready packaging,
one of each store’s largest waste streams. Once back at the distribution center, the display
ready packaging will be sorted and either recycled or cleaned and reused. By targeting one
of the largest waste streams and reusing this packaging, Fresh & Easy will divert a substantial
amount of waste from the landfill.
